Yelp Chiropractic Listing Optimization guide for 2015In my previous post I was talking about an importance of  Google Plus Chiropractic Page and how vital it is to have it properly set up so it will show up on a first page of Google search results. Yelp listing for your Local Chiropractic practice is as important in 2015 is it was last year or it will be next year. When search results are populated and if your Chiropractic Yelp listing is properly optimized it will show up together with your Google Page and Your Mobile Optimized Website. Why is it so important to have a Yelp Chiropractic Listing.

With over 60 million registered users and over 20 million reviews posted on the site, it’s fair to say Yelp is still the dominant force when it comes to social review sites. Restaurant onwers know the value of increasing their star rating on Yelp. But other businesses such a Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, Acupuncturist etc. make up 75% of the listings, showing that customers turn to the site to make decisions for all sorts of local businesses. Indeed, a bulk of my new patients come from Yelp. A certain percentage of new chiropractic patients have Yelp App. on their phones. Before they pick a chiropractor in their local town they are reading reviews from other chiropractic patients that utilized a service at my clinic. More positive reviews on Yelp will bring your practice to the top of search results. And that is the key for your practice in acquiring new patients.

The other important aspect of having many great Yelp reviews for Chiropractic Practice is being highly ranked on Yahoo and Bing. I used to have over 20 positive reviews on Yahoo by Yahoo users who were my previous patients. Now it is all replaced by Yelp reviews. The same goes for Bing search engine. Bing and Yahoo search engine do not bring that many new patients to a practice. Many smart phones and web browsers are set up for Google as a default search engine. However, occasionally Bing or Yahoo will deliver quality Personal Injury case or someone who is willing to pay cash for a service. This is usually the case with Windows based smart  phone which is a much smaller share market comparing to Droid or Iphone.

So, here are some tips and tricks for a successful Yelp Chiropractic Listing:

1. Look at other Chiropractic practices on Yelp in your town. Pay attention what they have to offer and what you can offer to distinguish yourself from them. Some people look for a specific technique that they got used to from a previous chiropractor. When they move to a new town you will be the one who can offer it to them. Pay close attention to the reviews that were given to other chiropractors. Try to pin down what your local market values highly and what prompts them to leave a poor or great reviews. Does their website link lead to an impressive chiropractic blog which is mobile optimized or one that turns traffic away and does not show up in search engines?

2. The name of your practice on Yelp must match the name on Google Plus Page, Yahoo Local, Bing Local or any other directory that your practice was listed. This insures that digital foot print of your practice is being ranked properly by Google algorithm search.

Detailed address and phone number is a must. Do not forget to include suite number if you have multiple offices in your building. A link to your chiropractic blog is another important point. This insures that these people will become your patients if they are impressed with your web presence.

Spend some money on quality photos. Hire a professional photographer who can do it for you. I am sure you can find one on Yelp in your area. Nothing hurts your  Chiropractic Yelp profile more than a blank photo area or very poor quality photos. Great quality photos is they key.  About your business tab is somewhat hidden behind the Reviews section. It’s crucial that you fill this out this section with as many details as possible. This extra info could be the tipping point that convinces customers you’re what they’re looking for. If after some time your Yelp listing does not show up in Google search results give me a call to fix this problem. You might be loosing out on tens of thousands of dollars in revenue. Hours of operation can not be left out. Your future chiropractic patients must know when you are available.

3. Assuming one and two are done and you are gaining some traction on a web now it is your time to shine. Delivering the results to your Yelp patients is the key. Trust me no one will ask what your GPA was at Chiropractic school. All your patients will care if you can you fix their problem or not. When they are happy they will write a great review about their experience at your office. When you get your first review make sure you reply and thank them for an opportunity for you to help them. These Yelp reviews and your skills will move your Chiropractic Yelp listing to the top of search results.

4. Chiropractic business owners on Yelp can gain access to detailed behind-the-scenes metrics about their business’s performance on Yelp. Here you can gather key insights about your Yelp presence. You can track the amount of traffic your Yelp profile receives and also see how many times your business showed up in search results on Yelp. Adding a coupon to your Chiropractic Yelp listing might enhance your performance. Something like $75 for $125 deal package or whatever you desire.  Make sure to check if online discounts are legal in your State.  Also you should expect Yelp eating a significant portion from that deal. If you offer $50 deal Yelp will send you a check for $35 only. I tried it for 3 months and then discontinued. These deals only bring patients who are looking for a deal not a better quality care.

Advertising with is an option if you have a brand new account. The minute you open an account with Yelp their advertising agents will be calling you every day. Advertising your listing will certainly bring you a greater exposure. However, sometimes your ad will show up 20-30 miles away from your clinic. People who are not local to your area will be clicking on it and eating up your advertising budget. I personally would not gamble this game with established accounts.
