Chiropractic T-Shirt Marketing Story
Recently I was cleaning out my storage space at my office and found this 6 or may be even 7 years old T-Shirt. Each of these “pieces of art :)” were given to all of my new patients. That was the time when chiropractic internet marketing was in its infant stage. I was working really hard on building my online presence and was committed to it 100%. I was posting on my blog 3 times a week different educational articles about chiropractic and any other health related topic. I was manually promoting my blog posts on different social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and even Youtube channel by recording testimonial with my ancient camera. Good smartphones did not even exist back then. I believe only Apple 2G was available at the time. Back then even Yahoo had its own review system and I was able to collect about 40 reviews plus or minus. Now they are using YELP review to rank a business on YAHOO local pages. Chiropractic T-shirt marketing story was born this past weekend when I found it again in my son’s closet while organizing it.
I wanted my existing patients and people they knew to know about my new Web 2.0 website with all of its blows and vessels. I even had to purchase POPUP domination and install it on my blog so I can catch email addresses of those who were reading information on my chiropractic blog.
However, the main purpose of this T-Shirt was for people to visit my blog and follow my chiropractic practice on different social media channels. Everything was primitive back then. The variety of wordpress plugins was very limited and many things on wordpress platform required coding. My coding skills were very limited. Google plus as a social network did not even exist and many chiropractors were massively advertising their practices in Yellow Pages.
If you noticed this T-Shirt does not have a phone number and a physical address. Even in a real world I was trying to drive traffic into a virtual world of my practice. If somebody would be interested in my services the would have to go to my blog and get my contact information from there. At the end of each year for 2 or 3 years I would purchase 100 of these T-Shirts. Good move for income write off and sets your next year up with good marketing material.
Moving forward to 2016. Recently I had 2 new patients who were involved in a really bad motor vehicle accident. A week before this accident they saw their neighbor wearing the very same T-Shirt that I gave him several years ago. He was very happy with chiropractic care provided at our office. These 2 new patients went to see him again and asked him about my practice’s whereabouts. I am not sure at this point and time how many new patients this magic marketing T-Shirt has generated over the years. However, I am certain that the most recent referral case paid for that one T-Shirt many times over.
Some of my old patients still come in to see me and they wear this T-Shirt and it put a grin on my face. It reminds me of those days when my chiropractic internet marketing skills and knowledge was very primitive and how I have learned everything step by step. Now my practice completely runs on autopilot and feeds itself 100% from the internet. The rules of the game have changed quite a bit since then. The dynamics of chiropractic internet marketing will continue to evolve. Those chiropractors who will not adopt this new technology and who will not incorporate it into their practices will have to close their doors very soon.
