Facebook Live was launched in August of 2015 with a clever campaign that made the platform available only to celebrities. This of course gave the app a lot of attention as Meerkat and Twitter’s Periscope were gaining traction. And by December of the same year, Facebook decided it was time to let more people in on the fun. Your Chiropractic Practice can greatly benefit from this new video platform.

However, there is a big but! The Facebook Livestreaming app is only available to a limited group of iPhone owners.  Although Facebook still hasn’t announced the availability of a Live app for Android based devices, you can use the Facebook Mentions app to stream live video if you don’t happen to own an iPhone. Facebook Live isn’t available for all business pages…yet. Right now, it’s only available on personal profiles in the U.S. who have iPhones and to those that have blue-verified fan pages.

Facebook Live allows you to share real-time video directly from your smartphone, letting your chiropractic viewers see whatever your phone’s camera is filming. While you can’t see or hear the people who are watching, your audience can type messages to you in real time.

Your live video gets displayed right in your viewers’ Facebook timelines, along with everything else they care about and follow. This allows for some amazing access to your chiropractic followers!

Here Are 7 Ways To Use Facebook Live For Your Chiropractic Practice

1. Give your chiropractic followers a peek behind the scenes of your chiropractic practice.

This is a great opportunity to show some personality as a business owner of a health care facility. What’s a typical day like for you as a business owner? Do you have a favorite morning routine you swear by? Or maybe give a behind the scenes tour of your office and show off your adjusting skills! Let potential new patients see your office equipment.

The possibilities are endless and this content will be unique, because you and your chiropractic practice are one of a kind. Just like handwriting.

2. Show everyone a slice of your “real life”.

Especially if you’re a personality-driven brand, this is a great way to share your life outside of your business: your pets, your new home renovation, your gardening projects, group cycling, your favorite exercises, perhaps even cooking your favorite dish. Use it as a time to connect with your followers as a real, live person. Remember, people are going to connect with you as an individual before they connect with you around your business, product or service!

 3. Hold a live Q&A.

Since anyone who’s watching your Facebook Live stream can type a message that will immediately show up on your screen, it’s a great tool to answer your chiropractic followers questions, in real time!

It’s value based to your chiropractic tribe and you don’t have to do a ton of advance preparation. The best part is that it is happening live, which strengthens the connection between you and a community of your potential new patients.

This is also a handy tool for some research! What is your chiropractic audience most curious about? What problems do they need your help solving? Make sure you’re tuned into what your viewers need to know during these Q&As, and you’ll have some serious marketing ideas right at your fingertips.

4. Be the teacher! Your Facebook chiropractic followers can be your students.

If you sell products at your chiropractic practice, give a demonstration or a tutorial of what the product is all about. As far as your chiropractic services, give everyone a preview of what’s your technique is all about and how it can benefit your viewers.

YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world after Google, in large part because people love to learn from videos. Use Facebook Live to share some content with your audience on a topic that you know will resonate with them. Prepare a short video teaching your chiropractic followers something useful, and watch those Facebook shares go crazy! I like that.

5. Show off your latest chiropractic product or service.

Build some buzz when you showcase your brand new product or service that your chiropractic practice is offering. Depending on your product or service, you can demonstrate how it works or by sharing how it solves a health related problem your followers have. When you solve your customer’s health related problems by providing them exactly what they are looking for, guess what happens? They call to make an appointment :-)!

6. Share a Story From A Client or Customer.

Sharing a story or a testimonial that your chiropractic patient has given is extremely powerful! There is an old saying that facts tell but stories SELL. This is sooo true. Additionally, in today’s marketplace, did you know that 92% of consumers listen and TRUST reviews from your happy chiropractic patients?

7. Repurpose Your Video.

Facebook Live automatically saves your video to your page for anyone who misses the live broadcast. But don’t forget to make the most out of your Facebook Live content! Could your video be turned into a powerful blog post, newsletter, or social media post? Don’t forget to upload it to YouTube!

Particularly if your broadcast really resonated with your chiropractic audience, this is just the beginning!

Start Planning Now!

There is no denying video is becoming the preferred solution for delivering messages to your chiropractic followers. And when the new feature becomes more widely used, the platform’s 1.5 plus billion users will be hard for any business to ignore. Certainly, some business users have  already begun experimenting with Facebook livestreaming.  So start looking at ways you can use the app for your business, it will be one more tool in your social media arsenal to engage with your potential new chiropractic patients. It’s important to note that there’s no obligation to use it. If it doesn’t sit right with your chiropractic practice, that’s fine. But there’s a big chance to engage with your audience in a whole new way with Facebook Live. Your news summaries can be distributed through email bulletins and social media. You are limited only by your imagination. So what are you waiting for?

And if you think video is a trend, this is what Facebook’s head of ad product Ted Zagat said about the subject:

“A year or two from now, we think Facebook will be mostly video,” during a panel at Variety’s Entertainment and Technology Summit in Los Angeles.

I would love to hear from you…how do you plan to use Facebook Live for your chiropractic business or any other health related business?
