Chiropractic Marketing Results from 2015 Campaigns
I can not believe that 2016 is here. Time flies way too fast and there is nothing we can do about it. However, we can be efficient as much as possible for that short period of time that is available to us every single day. Chiropractors must wear many hats in their practices weather running solo or in a group settings. I must admit that 2015 chiropractic marketing campaign was a fantastic one. Running 5 satellite offices and being physically present in a main office working only 3 days a week was an efficient way to balance work load, family life and keep my exercise schedule on a regular bases. Having a balance in life is an extremely important aspect of running a successful practice and eliminating burn outs.
In 2015 I have started my www.virtualchiropractorconsulting.com blog which has been growing its subscriber base every month. My wife and I welcomed our second child in October of last year. Our baby girl is 3 months now. I have completely eliminated health insurance from my practice. It was never my policy to accept medicare, medical and HMO in my practice due to almost none existent reimbursement from these carriers. PPO has become a new HMO – delayed reimbursements and constant follow up with insurance adjusters will drain your resources and most importantly your valuable time. I have figured out that after all of the invested time trying to collect from insurance I would end up making $15-$20 an hour. It is simply not worth it after so many years spent on education. I would rather see less patients, provide the same quality care and get paid in full by the end of a session than dealing with insurance gestapo tactics. Of course it is hard to survive with just cash based patients. A bulk of my practice is based on personal injury cases. I enjoy providing rehabilitation to my injured patients, but I let my personal injury attorneys deal with insurance adjusters. When the case settles the check is in my mailbox. The best part about personal injury case is a medpay coverage. There is no reimbursement issues with this coverage at all. You get paid in full most of the time.
Things have changed quite a bit ever since I started practicing in 2001 and now in 2016. Those chiropractors who have failed to adopt new marketing strategies, computerize their office procedures and convert to paperless office either will barely make a living or will go out of business completely. Chiropractic profession is not only about having a set of great adjusting skills but it is also about positioning yourself in a digital community. Basically it is a package deal – if you failed to have a package deal in your practice you are simply not going to make it.
I see way too many cookie cutters chiropractic websites. Many choose to rent a domain for a set price and have someone else running it for them. What most do not realize that their website just like thousands of other chiropractic websites – they all have the same content. Google search engine will not rank your site in a top 3 search results on a mobile phone or desktop results. What you are actually doing is destroying your chiropractic practice digital footprint. If tomorrow you choose to go on your own, everything that is associated with cookie cutter website will be lost and you are going to have to start all over again. It is prudent to get your digital footprint strated the right way and ASAP. If you are confused feel free to contact me directly. Content marketing will continue to lead in 2016 and it should be an important part of a marketing plan for any private practitioner.
I see a generation of young people going to a 3rd grade and baby boomers generation carrying smart phones. Everything goes mobile today and will only continue to evolve. If your potential new chiropractic patient does not see your chiropractic practice on their smartphone then you are not gaining a lion share of new patients. They are going to a chiropractor around the corner. My current online chiropractic presence brings in new patients 24/7/365, even when I am sleeping. Your goal for 2016 should have a strong mobile online presence. Be in a pack of 3 of Google search results. If you need help with your mobile optimization presence feel free to contact me.
GOOGLE PLUS vs. PINTEREST
There has been a lot of coverage about Pinterest and how popular that that platform is. I need to disappoint chiropractors who rely on this platform for local presence. Google plus has changed its format to Collections. It is a direct competition to Pinterest Boards. Google is a main search engine out there. if you think that Google will favor Pinterest results over Google search results you are mistaken. Google Collections with good content and good activity will be promoted by Google Plus streams free of charge. Anything that takes place on Google will show up on Google search results.
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and Twitter all fall under the same category. Once you published a new image or short 15 seconds video on an Instagram you can instantly share it with all of the platforms mentioned above. If you wish to share your image with other social media networks then use Regrann App. Properly optimized image with local #hashtags will deliver the results. Instagram seems to be gaining its traction for a local based marketing.
My Youtube channel has performed really good in 2015. With over 300,000 views and over 600 plus subscribers my channel is growing everyday. It is an amazing way to show off your adjusting skills, introduce yourself to a new patient and present the results before and after the treatment. Youtube is the 2nd largest search engine . If you are publishing on regular bases you will achieve the results in 2016.
PERISCOPE AND MEERKAT:
Periscope and Meerkat was a good way to expose your practice in 2015. Besides LIVE broadcast you can save the video and publish it back on your Youtube channel. Repurpose your content in 2016 as well. Every chiropractic practice will have its challenges in 2016 but the main challenge just like in 2015 will be a search and bringing new patients into your office. Good luck on a battlefield docs. If for some reason you feel like you are lost and do not know when to start feel free to contact me.
